“We enjoyed our first experience so much that we decided to try it again, tempted as we were by the November menu. One of the best things about this type of “eating out” is that John’s food is so very genuine; cooked in small batches with none of that restaurant trickery that often looks better than it tastes. The endive starter was so good, it could have overshadowed the main course, as starters often do, but braised guinea fowl with root veggies from John’s allotment and an earthy barley risotto was a savoury treat and completely delicious. I urge anybody who has not tried supper club dining to give it a go!”

“There was a good gentle buzz of anticipation around the tables in the spacious dining room as we began our beautifully cooked first course of creamy risotto, which John had been stirring away at as we arrived. The atmosphere was relaxed and informal; we had opted for a mix-in table so were on a table with people who we’d not met before, which only added to the enjoyment of being in a supper club setting. After a fresh and subtly flavoured fishy main course, came the pudding which was, literally, one of the best I have ever eaten! This is a good value way to enjoy scrumptious food cooked with care and deserves to be a great success. Yum!”
